Cut the nails short then soak them in nail polish remover until the acrylic dissolves. It doesn't take all that long. Don't try to pry them off. You'll damage the natural nail. What is the best way to remove acrylic nails without having to go back to the shop?

use a nail varnish remover with acetone in it, or just use acetone you can get it from the local chemist and its fairly cheap. put the bowl of acetone/nail varnish remover in another bowl with hot water in it so you have a bowl in a bowl and soak for 10 mins start to peel them away slowly and file then away with a file.
moisture after and apply a coat of nail varnish, acrylic nails bugger your natural ones and leave them flimsy for a while
Buy artificial nail remover it come in a bottle or a small tub that you dip your fingers into leave for a while and they just pull off. Easy.
i wouldnt take the chance of ruining your nails for the sake of a few quid - go back to the shop and have it done properly - you know it makes sense !!

It will hurt if you just rip them off so you should wait for them to fall off or wait until they get a little loose and then take them off
soak them in acetone but don't be tempted to pull them, wait till they melt/disolve then use loads of nail oil and hand cream
soak soak soak soak soak For about an hour in Nail POlish remover without acitone. They'll slowly dissapeart, and then you might have to peel em off a little, but it won't hurt. If they dont want to come off, then soak them some more. :) Do it while watchin a movie, and never pull them off from the top, but from the side if possible! Also, If they don't want to come off and you've been soaking, then soak them again for a little bit, and they'll come off eventually. Good luck Hope this helps!

soak them in an acetone nail varnish remover
I know, I know. I just let mine grow out and start cutting them way down when they get to a certain point. When there isn't much left you can soak them in nail polish remover to rid the remains.
Pure acetone from a beauty shop, pour in bowl, soak finger tips in it till they dissolve. Its totally toxic. If you want natural nails that are stronger and cheaper to get than fakes I HIGHLY recommend a company called, and, no I dont work for them, Nailtiques, nail protein: I used formula 1+2, followed directions and WOW. Here's the info, 12415 SW 136th Avenue Miami, FL 33186, USA
(800)272-0054 or (305)378-0740. Good Luck and I hope you never have to go to a salon for beautiful nails again. Love, Ellen
soak in pure acetone, this is what my manicurist does
Well, you can do it by soaking your nails in acetone, which is why when you go to get your nails done, they can only use non-acetone on acrylics. However, it is not recommended to take your own nails off. You need to be careful, and it is good to have them looked at, just in case you developed any nail diseases, like paronychia. Plus, the length of time it takes to remove the nails in the acetone is a long process, and you could really dry out your skin or damage things further. Obviously, popping your nails off is just as bad. Again, it is better to suck it up and go back to the nail salon. If you went to a higher priced place (such as a hair salon that offers nails, or a spa), and you can't afford to go back, just go to a small shop... but be wary a lot of times those places aren't as sanitary (not all, just some) and don't use as good of products.
Just soak in Acetone nailpoilsh remover and wait till they slowly dissolve away. You might have to also take them off with something that won't scratch your nail... and good luck because it does take a while to come off...
Semtex! I warn you though, it's not exactly painless.
when u get them off, dont replace them...urgh disgusting
you can buy acrylic nail remover in superdrug i think
There is a product which comes in a small plastic tub, has acitone in it and a sponge, you just have to soak your nails in it and the scrubbing action of the sponge will remove them. Only problem may be that when you remove the acrylics your nail bed will be very sensitive so you should have handy some clear polish to put over the nails while you grow them out, put on lots of coats. In a worse case scenerio you may even have to put super glue on your own nails to mend cracks which may have developed until the nail grows out. The kit is available at most Target stores.
