When you get acrylic nails done should they hurt?

I get them done by a professional and they didn't hurt at first and it's been like 6 hours and now they like really hurt. This is only the second time I've had them one ( once when I was really young) and they hurt for days after I got them done. Should they? And how can I make them not hurt?

You mention that you went to a 'professional.' It depends on what your definition of a professional is. Are you talking about a tech in a shopping mall discount salon that charges like $25 for a full set? Or a tech that does a full set for really cheap, and in about a half hour or so and you find it difficult to communicate with the person because of a huge langage barrier? I have found these have the very least professional of all techs, and they will typically use Dremel drills on your natural nails and file them down to nothing - supposedly to make the acrylic 'stick better. That is so unnecessary, but then again we are talking about unskilled workers here, so it doesn't surprise me one it.

To answer your question, nail services should NEVER cause you any pain, or discomfort in any way. If you do experience any pain, you are most likely going to the wrong salon. Avoid the cheap, discount salon chop shops at all costs. Americans seem to love their $15 dollar fills done in 20 minutes flat, but they don't know the truth about these salons. Yet, so many women seem to flock to these chop shops and line up to get some cheap nails applied and call it good. I don't get it. My suggestion is to find a highly reputable salon with experienced techs who actually take pride in their work. It will cost you more, but the end result will be so worth it. Just avoide the cheap places. And don't let any tech use a dremel tool on your nails - ever. These tools were not intended for use on nails, and are illegal to use on nails in many states. When you get acrylic nails done should they hurt?
either you've got really sensitive skin or they don't sanitize their implements. dremmels can hurt too. sometimes places dremmel to deep and leave divets in the nail. or when they file into your skin with a diamond dust nail file. did any of these things take place? that could be why you are hurting. otherwise, you should NOT be hurting at all.
When I get mine done, they never hurt. Maybe you are allergic to something in it. I hope this helps.
