it's just a spot where your nail was injured or previously injured. It can also indicate a zinc deficiency but that is rare. Just let your nails grow out. I get them all the time. If you don't want to see them paint your nails.I have small white spots on my finger nails. What are they and how can i get rid of them?
If they are on the back of your finger at the cuticle you don't want to get rid of them. They are a sign that your colesterol is good. If the white spots leave your colesterol is out of hand.I have small white spots on my finger nails. What are they and how can i get rid of them?
It's a build-up of calcium carbonate. In some cases it's an early sign of heart problems.
they are there because you lack certain things...i think they are iodine and zinc. i get those sometimes...if you lack these things too much, it can initiate the onset of thyroid problems. you may experience mood issues even now because of a lack of these things. Try taking a multivitamin to help out.
here is a quote from a web site about where to get zinc:
';What foods provide zinc?
Zinc is found in a wide variety of foods (2). Oysters contain more zinc per serving than any other food, but red meat and poultry provide the majority of zinc in the American diet. Other good food sources include beans, nuts, certain seafood, whole grains, fortified breakfast cereals, and dairy products (2,9). Zinc absorption is greater from a diet high in animal protein than a diet rich in plant proteins (2). Phytates, which are found in whole grain breads, cereals, legumes and other products, can decrease zinc absorption (2, 10, 11).(Refer to Table 1: Selected Food Sources of Zinc lists a variety of dietary sources of zinc.)';
the other possibility is from an injury to the nail, such as hitting it on something.
That usually comes from a lack of calcium.. try a multi vitamin with or calcium supplement.
i get that too sometimes..i heard its either damage to the nail bed or calcium deficiency..start taking a multivitamin
These are ususally a systemic condition that can leave white spots on your otherwise unblemished fingnails. Certain nutritional deficiencies, particularly a lack of zinc or protein in your diet, can cause a nearly total whiteout of your nail except for the tips or even a pattern of white bands across the width of the nail. Hope this helps and they clear up soon.
