I am going to be getting acrylic nails and i need to know the diffrence?

Okk so like I said I am going to get acrylic nails mostly to stop my nail biteing habbit.





Anyways I dont know the diffrence from


regular acrylics


pink(solar)white tips


pink and white (solar)


gel IPD


color/glitter


and i dont know which one to getI am going to be getting acrylic nails and i need to know the diffrence?
Well first off I am a licensed manicurist.





Regular Acrylics - normally they'll glue on a natural colored tip and put acrylic on top of it and you entire nail





Pink(solar)white tips - I'm guessing they will glue on white tips and use pinkinsh powder...to give it the Pink and White look. I call it the fake pink and white....anyways solar is probably the brand...cause I know Creative Nail Design has powder which is called Solar Nail(CND is a great product by the way.





Pink and White (solar) - This is the Real Pink and White. The white will be sculpted with white acrylic on your tip and then the pink down on your nail bed.





Gel IPD - its probably gel IBD. I use that product and its great! Gel is a hypo allergenic product. So if you are allergic to acrylic gel is the way to go. Also if applied properly it should be super light, feel super natural, and should NEVER lift.





Color/Glitter - Its very similar to the Real Pink and White, but instead of using white they will use Color/Glitter Acrylic on the tip. I do that on myself all the time!





Silk wraps - They are basically pieces of silk that are glued in layers to thicken and give added strength to nails, but my opinion sild wraps are old school. I feel like they come to easy. Glue, whether is super glue or nail glue, it will break down in water. So I dont really like them.





Get what you are in the mood for. Thats whats great about nails you can fancy them up anyway you want or based on the occasion and you can change them every week!





Also any kind of enhancement, Acrylic, Gel or silk wrap doesnt damage your nail. The damage comes from how they were put on and how they are taken off. If they are using a drill on your real nail....HELLO...thats why they are thin. Then if you rip them off they get even thinner!!

Solar nails ARE acrylic nails.Don't be mislead by the term. These are nothing more than ordinary acrylic nails. I never heard of 'gel IPD.' WHat the heck is that? And color/glitter is just what it sounds like. It's not a type of nail, but rather an addition to your basic nail. In short, these are added to either the acrylic, or gels to bring out a nice effect. Most places don't do that type of nail, especially the cheap places. They can barely do regular acrylic nails. Seriously. I have seen them airbrush the white onto pink %26amp; white acrylic nails before. That is NOT how it;s done! And using a white tip is so simple, even a chimp could do it. Sculpting is the best method - no matter which type of nails you get..But, the cheap places don't do that because it takes skill. And that is something they lack.
Honestly, I think you shouldn't be getting acrylic nails.


They make your real nails thinner as to where you can barely use them.


%26amp; Second, they look trashy (I'm sorry!)


You should just get a french manicure painted on your nails.. It looks natural and beautiful..


%26amp; All of my friends that had them said that they HATE them and they can't go back to regular nails.


So, take your pick..

.get those cause you can paint them any color with pink and wite tips they are just plain.
if your looking for cheap and cute get white tips with gels


or if your the wild type lol then get the glitter tips with the gels
