What can I use to harden my nails?

I have tried alot of diffrent things. My nails are very weak and britle and i dont know what to do for it. I usually wear fake nails but they get expensive to keep up with. I want to grow out my own nails but its just not happenin for me any sugestions? What can I use to harden my nails?
Hey Krystal! Well first things first my lovely, ditch the fake nails. It cuts off the oxygen supply to your own nails and in no time at all damages them. Making them weak and flakey and what diva needs that drama!! EEEOOUUCH!! Then keep your nails short for a while until they recoup. Once a week massage cuticle cream into your cuticles. Gently push your cuticles back with a cuticle stick (your fingernail will work fine). Buff any flakes out and keep your nails hydrated with cream. Also, take calcium nitrate vitamins...they work absolute wonders in no time at all! You'll notice a difference (they'll grow longer and stronger) within 2 weeks! What can I use to harden my nails?
you could've easily went to walmart and bought some nail hardener for $5. or get some clear nail polish.
try eating a lot of jello, gelletin makes ur nails grow! also take a daily multiviatamin, u need viatamin A,K %26amp; Calcium usually when ur nails dont grow its a sign that ur body is lacking some nutrients.... improove ur diet..
My nails are pretty strong, this seems to be the case for most guys. Women tend to have weaker nails and from what I know they are more prone to suffering from nutrient deficiencies. So it's might be useful to take vitamin supplements or increase your daily intake of nutrients i.e. more fruit and vege and dairy products. Nail hardener is really useful as well, especially if your nails peel a lot.
Eat Jello. I had to be on a liquid diet for surgury, and ate jello. . . alot. . .and my nails grew like crazy.
Take lots of gelatin capsules every day. You can find them online or at your local drugstore. They really help your nails out. Also, be sure you're getting enough calcium. Your best bet is to take a multivitamin each day with a full day's worth of Calcium included to cover all your bases.
you don't even have to go out and buy anything! the main reason why your nails aren't as hard as you want them to be is because you need more iron in your diet. as gross as it sounds, try eating some spinach or check on the label of some foods that contain iron and eat that. you get to pig out AND you get firm, nice nails
The best thing you can do is make sure you are eating plenty of protein every day. Most women need about 60-70 grams a day (20-25 grams per meal). Skin, hair and nails are mostly made up of protein. Sometimes soft nails are hereditary, but protein will definetly benefit you in any case. Protein shakes and bars are helpful if you skip a meal or junk out on a meal. Fake nails are damaging when used on a regular basis. You must allow enough time for the damaged nail bed to heal. Then apply a polish with nail strengthener in it (like Sally Hansen) to protect the nails from chemicals and breakage until they get healthy again.
i've seen nail polishes that are made to help your nails grow faster and stronger. you could try that.
This sounds weird but go to a feed and seed shop and get a bottle of hoof and mane protector.

It works awesome.

No joke.
Use nail hardening polish, get it at any store
OPI Nail Envy is best!
Ok you should try Sally Hansen ';Hard as Nails'; its a clear nail polish and it is sold at local drugstores. It costs about $6.
use that green tea stuff
i always break my nails too, so i dun keep long, coz i used many product, nail hardener, no use at all.
There are many nail strengtheners that are nail polishes. Personally If i want my nails to grow and get stronger i take all polish off and i just let them grow.
